Why is Kirk Cobain Idealized or worshipped in some cases?

I have noticed that alot of young people Idolize Kirk Cobain like a Jimmy Hendrix or Like Janis Joplin. In my opinion, Kirk Cobain should be ignored totally and not remembered. To me he is the most selfish person. How can anybody idolize someone who left his wife and chil like that, by being so selfish to take their own life and leave them behind. What is their to idolize or put on a pedastoole? I dont understand.
