Ideas for Dia De Los Muertos Honorees?

I am a part of a student organization for Social Change. We would like to participate this year in our schools Dia de los Muertos celebration. We would like to have three one local (minnesota), one national, and one international latino/hispanic person who has made an influence on social issues. Since it is for Day of the Dead the person(s) have to be "no longer with us" which is making it a difficult task. Any ideas for either local, national, or international would be greatly appreciated!
